Severus Alexander. AD 222-235. Gold Aureus (6.21 g). Roma, ca. A.D. 232. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Severus Alexander right. Reverse: Mars advancing right, holding spear and shield. RIC 245; Calicó 3073; BMC 830; Cohen 160. Very minor deposits in some of the letters, primarily on the reverse. We also note fine cleaning lines on the surfaces. Attractive style and quite pleasing. Very Fine.
