Antoninus Pius, AD 138-161. Gold Aureus (7.39g). Minted at Rome AD 145-161. Laureate bust of Pius facing right with drapery on left shoulder. Reverse: Roma seated left on throne, left hand on spear and holding Victory in outstreched right hand; shield set on throne. C-557 var. (no drapery). RIC 147; Calico 1656 (these dies). Boldly struck on a nice full flan and well centered. Superb Extremely Fine.
