Britannicus, son of Claudius, AD 55. AE 36. Struck in Thrace, Perinthus. Draped and bare bust of the young Britannicus facing left. Reverse: S-C, Mars clad in military attire standing left, holding a round shield and spear. BN II, 111, 287 (same dies); H-M v. Kaenel, Britannicus, Aprippina Minor and Nero in Thrakien, SNR 63 (1984), 130, B-4. Dark olive-green patina over pitting. Extremely Rare. Fine.
