Judaea Capta. Vespasian 69-79 CE. AE Sestertius (26.8g). Struck at Rome, 71 CE. Laureate head of Vespasian facing right. Reverse: IVDAEA CAPTA S C; Palm tree; male Jewish captive on left, stands facing right; mourning Jewess sits on right, arms around both figures. In the left field behind the standing Jew, is a helmet. Hendid 1509a; RIC 424. Lovely chocolate brown patina and quite choice. Nearly Extremely Fine.
