Roman Republican Jewish Reference Coin. A. Plautius, moneyer, Silver Denarius (3.7g), ca. 55 BCE. Tyrreted head of Cybele facing right. Reverse: BACCHIVS IVDAEVS; Bearded male figure kneels right with palm branch in left hand, alongside camel. Hendin 1443; Craw. 431/1; RSC Plautia 13. Flan flaw as made at 11 o'clock on obverse, otherwise Extremely Fine and beautifully toned.

The kneeling figure is most likely Aristobulus, the Jewish high priest, then held captive by Pompey in Rome.
