1921 Alabama Half Dollar, With 2 x 2. PCGS graded MS-66 PQ CAC Approved. A lovely frosty white coin. Lustrous but deep white frostiness dominates the surfaces of this beautiful Commemorative coin, with a particular glow to the reverse fields. One would be hard put to add more about the mint bloom. As for the strike, this Alabama was struck with technical exactness throughout. Both portraits show intricate detail. The small 2x4 was used by the promoters as a marketing tool in the hopes that buyers would want to own both varieties, with and without. As it is, since many Alabamas were put into circulation after sales lagged, the plan seems to have been futile. Not so is it futile to obtain an MS66 example, just very, very difficult (notice the low population). A superlative coin for a specialized collection where top-quality is a prerequisite. Pop 83; 9 finer (PCGS # 9225) .
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,200.

Realized $3,565
