1842-D. Small Date. NGC graded EF-45. Untoned with light handling marks. An early date from this mint, the detail is crisper on Liberty and the eagle than on issues made in the 1850s. However, that is not to say every element is bold, since most of the obverse stars are rounded or slightly indistince; and the date was impressed in to a slightly shallow depth in the die (PCGS # 8210) .
