1851-C $1 Gold Liberty. NGC graded AU-58. Only 41,267 minted. A still-lustrous coin having spent enough time in circulation to acquire a short hairline in the field paralleling the nose and moderate abrasions in the field and on some devices on the reverse. Full clear date with a bold C mintmark (for Charlotte, North Carolina, one of three mints opened by the US government in the South in the year 1838) (PCGS # 7514) .
