1802 S-231 R1 Stemless Wreath. PCGS graded AU-55. CAC Approved. Frosty steel and chocolate brown with lighter reddish steel brown covering the protected areas. Great eye appeal with a just a few light contact marks, mostly in the field behind the portrait. MDS, Breen state VI, showing several light die cracks on both sides. Graded EF45 Average Plus and tied for CC#9 in the Noyes census, photo #31828. Called EF45 in the Bland/Breen census. Our grade is EF45+, close to AU50. A beautiful example of the Stemless Wreath variety. The attribution and Paul Gerrie provenance are shown on the PCGS label. Pop 1; 1 finer in 61.
