1837 Hard Times Token Low-19, Rulau HT-33A (Rarity-5) AU50. Frosty medium brown. No defects, only very light friction on the highpoints. A popular political type that circulated as a cent. Late die state with dentils rather than border beads around each side. Rulau calls this a different variety (HT-33A rather than HT-33) because of the change in the borders, but Schuman and Low list it as the same variety. Apparently the version with dentils is considerably rarer than the one with beads. See pages 388-390 in the "Redbook."
