1798 S-187 R1 Style II Hair with Small 8. PCGS graded AU-58. Lustrous light chocolate brown and steel. Great eye appeal. The notable marks are a long, light nick along the jawline and a few small spots of darker toning over ITE in UNITED. Nicely struck E-MDS, Breen state II, with fine die cracks and clashmarks on both sides. Graded AU55 Average Plus and tied for CC#4 in the Noyes census, photo #23319. Bland says AU50 and tied for CC#6 in his census of confirmed examples. Our grade is AU55. The attribution and Paul Gerrie provenance are shown on the PCGS label. Pop 2; none finer at PCGS. Tied for the Finest graded at the service .
