1836 N-7 R4 Wavy Hair Type EF40. Attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. The notable marks are a tiny speck of crud in the field close before the nose and a small, shallow planchet flake above the 3 in the date (as struck). MDS with a fine die crack above TE to the D in UNITED extending weakly to the tops of ST. The hair along the top of the head is wavy, and this distinctly different style has been attributed to the engraver Christian Gobrecht.
