L. Sempronius Pitio, moneyer. Silver Denarius minted at Rome, 148 BC. Helmeted head of Roma right. Reverse: The Dioscuri on horseback right with couched lances; below horses, L SEMP; within rectangular frame below, ROMA. Craw 216/1; Syd. 402; Sear 2. Attractively toned and needle sharp. A wonderful depiction of the Dioscuri. Superb Extremely Fine.
