Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. Gold Stater (8.57g) minted at Lampsakos, ca. 328/5-323 BC. Struck under Kalas or Demarchos. Head of Athena right in a crested Attic helmet adorned with a coiled serpent, wearing earring and necklace. Reverse: Nike (Victory) standing left holding wreath and stylis; in field left, forepart of conjoined horses; below left wing, Δ monogram. Price 1358; Müller 394. Nearly Extremely Fine.
