Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. Gold Stater (8.5g) minted at Miletos. Struck under Asandros, ca. 323-319 BC. Head of Athena right wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with a coiled serpent. Reverse: Nike (Victory) standing left holding a wreath and stylis, KI monogram in the left field; labrys below right wing. Price 2114; SNG Saraglos 133-4. Pleasing type with Athena displaying a very earthy countenance. Extremely Fine.
