Sicily, Syrakuse. Silver Tetradrachm (17.14g) struck ca. 490-485 BC. Dies by the"Master of the Large Arethusa Heads." Charioteer walking slow quadriga left; Nike (Victory) flying right above to crown the charioteer. Reverse: Head of Arethusa right, with high cheekbone, large nose and rounded chin, wearing a tainia and necklace; her hair finely beaded around face, cross-hatched on back of head and behind her neck, with two fine, wavy locks falling down neck behind ear; truncation defined with a double line - the upper solid, the lower dotted; four dolphins around.
