Celtic. Eastern Europe. Imitating Thasos types. Silver Tetradrachm (15.24g) ca. 148-80 BC. Wreathed head of Dionysos right in partially low relief on beveled field, two near-parallel lines for mouth. Reverse: Herakles standing facing, head left, holding club formed of pellets, lion's skin depicted as line with pellet at end, detailed amphora in far right field, corrupted legend, but passable Greek letters; "Δ HMH" below. Göbl--, Kostial--, Pink--. Interesting, Rare and unusual type. Pale russet highlights. Extremely Fine.
