Lot 296

1798 S-186 R2 Small 8, Style II Hair EF40+. Choice glossy chocolate and steel with satiny mint frost covering the protected areas on both sides. Very close to EF45. No spots or stains, only a few trivial ticks from flawless. Nicely struck E-MDS, Breen state II. There is a slightly raised retained cud break connecting the second 0 in the denominator to the dentils below. The obverse fields are covered with fine vertical die finishing lines and the die crack to the rim opposite the chin is light but visible. A premium example offering great eye appeal, clearly in the condition census. A new discovery found in England.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
Discovered by Brett and Suzanne Dean in England.

Realized $9,775
