Lot 218

1794 S-50 R5 VG7. A few points sharper, especially on the obverse, but there are small contact marks scattered over the obverse including a small dig on the 4 in the date that partially distorts that numeral. In addition there are rim bruises over AMER and a smaller one under the right side of the denominator. The planchet is mostly smooth and attractive but there is a small patch of shallow roughness at the junction of the neck and bust and another at MER. No verdigris. Rather glossy medium brown and light chocolate blending to dark olive brown in some of the protected areas. MDS, Breen state II. The date and legends are complete and clear except for weakness at MER.
Estimated Value $1,250-UP.
Ex Gordon Wrubel 6/1975-John D. Wright (Wright collection envelope included).

Realized $1,610
