1793 S-11b R4 Wreath Cent with Lettered Edge NGC graded AU details, Corrosion. Variety with Two Leaves Following Dollar. The NGC label states this piece has a Vine & Bars Edge, which is clearly incorrect. The pronged holder allows one to see the edge lettering and both of the leaves following DOLLAR. A sharp piece, but the right half of the obverse and the right edge of the reverse are covered with fine to moderate roughness while the rest of the planchet is smooth and attractive. No verdigris, and the only mark is a dull nick in the field near the border beads behind the head. Medium chocolate brown and olive, and the smooth portions are glossy. MDS, Breen state III, showing fine but clear die clashmarks on both sides. Struck slightly off center to K-5 leaving some of the border beads off the planchet. Our grade is EF45 sharpness net F12 for the roughness.
