Lot 122

1783 Washington Draped Bust Cent without Button Restrike in Copper Breen-1193. NGC graded Proof 63 Brown. Frosty light to medium chocolate brown with underlying reflectivity in the fields and protected areas. There is a fine scratch or planchet crease from right of the eye down to the truncation above the 3 in the date, probably as struck, plus traces of shallow dirt in some of the protected areas. Might benefit from a bath. Very sharply struck, as usual. The fields are slightly reflective. Variety with the center-grained edge, which is noted on the NGC label but not visible in the slab. Struck in London circa 1860. Similar to the preceding two lots.
Estimated Value $500-UP.

Realized $506
