1783 Washington Draped Bust Cent without Button Restrike in Copper Breen-1193. NGC graded Proof 66 Brown. CAC Approved. Very attractive light chocolate and olive brown with electric blue overtones in the fields. Mellowed mint color shows on 20% of the obverse and 10% of the reverse. The fields are reflective while the devices are frosty, which adds to the eye appeal. Very sharply struck on a flawless planchet. Essentially perfect. There is a fine double profile on the nose, lips, and chin. These restrikes were made circa 1860 by W. J. Taylor of London, and this one comes with a center-grained edge rather than a plain edge. Listed on page 80 in the "Redbook."
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
