Lot 794

STS-71 / MIR EO-18 Likely FLOWN, 2 straps and EVA Wrist Mirror. These are 3 pieces of Russian space equipment used during EVas. Included are 2 straps and a wrist mirror which is used when a Cosmonaut is fully suited allowing him to see behind or to the side. These 3 items were used by Gennadi Strekalov aboard MIR. He launched in Soyuz TM-21 (3/14/95) and returned via Atlantis STS-71 (7/7/95). They were presented to Donald Puddy by Aleksander Aleksandrov as a small token of thanks for the long hours they spent together on the "US/USSR Crew Exchange Program". There is a notation on the face of the mirror. As best we can determine it reads "with unprecedented respect for Nitcole in our joint …" Included is the envelope they were sent to Puddy in with "best wishes Alexander" notated. Also, a COA from the consignor. A very interesting lot.
Estimated Value $250 - 350.
Ex. The Donald Puddy Estate Collection.

Realized $360
