Adams, Ansel. White Post and Spandrel. Gelatin Silver Photograph. Full signature in pencil beneath lower right edge. Negative Date: 1953, printed by Ansel Adams, 1974. Edition Number: #24/110. Print Size: 19½ x 14 inches. Mount Size: 29 x 23 inches. From Portfolio VI, plate 7. Identified VI-7 24/110 in pencil mount recto, left lower margin. "Ansel Adams / Portfolio VI" stamp mount verso. Complete with Certificate of Authenticity #022060 from The Ansel Adams Gallery.

Late in his life, Adams felt he had been unfairly pidgeon-holed as a nature photographer, and produced Portfolio VI in response. White Post and Spandrel, an image made in the ghost town of Columbia, California is a stark example of a body of work of architectural detail.
Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,500.

Realized $2,220
