1857 C-1 R2. PCGS graded MS-64 Red & Brown. Frosty mint red mellowing to steel brown. About 75% of the red remains on the obverse and 35% on the reverse. The lower half of the reverse is toned a darker shade of bluish steel. The notable marks are a couple long, thin nicks on the cheek and along the front edge of the neck, plus a speck of darker toning above the A in HALF. Otherwise this piece would be close to gem. E-MDS. Our grade is consistent with the PCGS grade. The slab label indicates the Cohen variety and Carvin Goodridge provenance. PCGS population 1; the finest graded in RB for the variety at PCGS (#35340).
Estimated Value $600-UP.
