1851 C-1 R1 Second 1 Repunched. PCGS graded MS-63 Red & Brown. Glossy mint red blending to light olive and steel brown, about a third of the original mint color remaining, mostly on the obverse. Looks choice but there are a few dull rim nicks at star 5 and some light contact marks on the cheek. A small spot of dark steel toning above the coronet over IB is a good identifying mark. MDS. The repunching right of the second 1 is sharp. Our grade is MS62. The attribution and Carvin Goodridge provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; only 3 RB graded for the variety (#35325).
Estimated Value $300-UP.
Ex Stack's 9/9/1987:320 (lot ticket included).
