Phoenicia, Tyre. Struck 97/6 BC. AR Tetradrachm (14.1 g). Known as the "Shekel of Tyre". Laureate head of Melqart right. Reverse: Legend (Tyre the holy and inviolable). Eagle standing l. with r. foot on prow of ship, palm branch over r. shoulder, date and club in field to l; monogram in r. field. BMC 117. Very Fine.
