Syria, Seleukid Kingdom. Antiochos VI, 144-142 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.82 g) minted at Antioch, dated year 169 (144-143 BC). Diademed and radiate head right of Antiochos VI. Reverse: Dioskouroi riding on horseback left with border of lotus, ivy and ears of wheat around. Newell (SMA) 232; cf. SNG Spaer 1762. Wonderful portrait and a fabulous example. Superb Extremely Fine.
