Pontic Kingdom. Mithradates VI, Eupator, the "Great", 120-63 BC. Gold Stater (8.27g) minted at Tomis, c. 88-66 BC. Issue by Mithridates VI, in the name of Lysimachos. Diademed head right of deified Alexander, resembling Mithridates, wearing Horn of Ammon. Reverse: Athena enthroned half-left, holding Nike standing left on outstretched right hand, resting left on grounded shield; in exergue, trident flanked by dolphins. SNG Copenhagen 1090; AMNG 2477. Lustrous. Extremely Fine.
