Thessaly, Larissa, c. 360-350 BC. AR Drachm. Head of nymph Larissa facing three-quarters left. Reverse: Horse standing right, foreleg bent. Lorber SNR 79, pl. III, 29-30; Dewing 1406. Edges a little rough, otherwise, a magnificent portrait of Larissa with delicate iridescent toning. Superb Extremely Fine.

The fine portraiture of Larissa was undoubtedly copied from the famous tetradrachms engraved by Kimon at Syracuse.
