1885-S. NGC graded MS-65. Boldly struck. What is most in full view when we examine this coin is its thick, golden mint luster -- it swirls over each side unhindered by abrasions and free of even a trace of toning. A coin with outward charm that will delight the serious Half Eagle collector. What gladdens us further is to see a really crisp rather than a dullish, smooth impression was left by the pressure of the dies that struck this sharp specimen. Pop 102; 16 finer (PCGS # 8368) .
