Lot 750

1911-D $2.50 Indian. PCGS graded MS-63. A beautiful coin that boasts coppery gold toning and is well struck on all but the uppermost wing tip of the eagle. The key date to the series, which has long been collected as one of the few gold sets any collector can hope to complete without investing an entire fortune. Pratt's incuse design was a real departure from any coins made for circulation previously, and many did not like it. However, the objections were overcome and these incuse design quarter eagles and half eagles remain extremely popular with current collectors. A triumph for the date collector to purchase, and this piece looks to be at the high end of its grade category.
Estimated Value $6,500 - 7,000.

Realized $7,188
