1840 N-8 R1 Large Date MS63+. Highly lustrous bluish steel and olive with traces of mint red remaining on the obverse, 15% on the reverse. Satiny mint frost covers this cent offering outstanding eye appeal. The only marks are a tiny tick on the rim above star 5 and a faint scuff on the C in CENT. LDS, die state d. The latest state seen with strong rim cud breaks at stars 9-12. Great eye appeal and a neat die state. Tied for CC#4 in the Grellman census. Noyes graded MS63, his photo #29949. Now housed in a PCGS MS65 BN holder. (PCGS # 395840).
