Churchill, Sir Winston S. Typed Letter Signed, with holograph salutation and closing, on personal stationery engraved "Chartwell, Westerham, Kent," one page, 9 x 7 in., Oct. 26, 1933. Writing to H. Thornton Butterworth, Churchill wrote in his hand, "My dear Butterworth"; the holograph closing is "Yours sincerely." In part: "…I am much obliged to you for the trouble you have taken. The volumes of the Great War of course come in our personal arrangement by which you receive 25% of whatever I get. With regard to the broadcast fee Pray let me know what is your idea." Butterworth published several of Churchill's earlier books, including The World Crisis, which was a history of the First World War. Archivally matted and framed with an image of Churchill to an overall size of 16 x 22½ in.; a few small nicks to frame, else fine.
