George III & William Pitt. Partly-printed Document Signed ("George R") and ("W Pitt"), one page, vellum, 12½ x 15½ in., Saville House, October 27, 1760. Appointing Sir John Bruce Hope, Baronet, as "Lieutenant General of all and singular Our Forces, as well Horse, as Foot, employed, or to be employed in Our Service…." The seal is intact at upper left under the King's signature, which has faded somewhat. William Pitt's signature at lower right is bold. Signed just two days after the death of George II, making this one of George III's earliest documents signed as King. Archivally matted and framed with a small image of George III to an overall size of 19½ x 27½ in.
