Lily Damita. 11 x 14 in. photo signed in the plate by photographer Herbert Mitchell. Damita (1904-1994) was a French actress who appeared in 33 movies between 1922 and 1937. After appearing in several German films directed by Michael Curtiz, who became her first husband, she was invited to Hollywood in 1927 by Samuel Goldwyn and appeared opposite stars such as Gary Cooper, Maurice Chevalier, Laurence Olivier, Cary Grant, and James Cagney. Errol Flynn was her second husband.
