Fatty Arbuckle - Photos and Negatives Never Seen By Him. Four 10 x 8 in. negatives of Arbuckle, accompanied by a positive copy of each (a positive copy is basically a xerox copy made with the sole purpose of showing what the negative images look like; photographic prints can be made from the negatives). In two, he wears his signatory droopy pants, boots, and too-small hat, daintily dancing in one and his finger in his mouth in the other; the other two are dignified shots of Arbuckle wearing a suit. All have been signed in the plate by photographer Herbert Mitchell. Accompanied by the negatives which have only been used to produce these photos. These are among the photos Arbuckle had celebrity photograph Mitchell take in 1933, in an attempt to jump-start his career, but Arbuckle dropped dead of a heart attack before he could pick them up. These photos were never seen by Fatty Arbuckle and were never released to the public. They have remained in Mitchell's files for almost 80 years!
Estimated Value $200 - 300.
Ex: Private collection of Herbert Mitchell.
