Bob Hope, Ethel Merman, and Jimmy Durante. Four 8 x 10 in. publicity photos of the young actors taken for "Red, Hot and Blue," a musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and the book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. It premiered on Broadway in 1936 and introduced the song, "It's De-Lovely," sung by Ethel Merman. Two photos, numbered "5" and "7" on the verso show the trio together and have photographer Herbert Mitchell's original signature at lower left. A Jimmy Durante photo is signed in the plate by Mitchell and one of Merman has Mitchell's stamped imprint on the back.
