ASTP, c1960s, Deke Slayton's Vintage Apollo Speedmaster Professional Wristwatch. This black-faced, stainless steel chronograph, manual wind wristwatch has a Plexiglas crystal, solid case back with anti-vibration and anti-magnetic dust cove, black tachymeter bezel and sub-dials, without date or day complications and is powered by a caliber 861-based movement. There appear to be tritium powered phosphorescent lumen on the hands and index markers of the watch.

This is a space-qualified watch as indicated by the case back which reads: "Flight Qualified by NASA For Manned Space Missions / The First Watch Worn on the Moon". A two-tone stainless steel replacement wrist band is mounted on the watch. Prior to this sale the watch has been professionally cleaned and put into fully functioning order. While the consignor's flown Omega watch is presently recorded as being in the Smithsonian collection, this watch was found among his effects after his passing. A great addition to any collection. Some wear should not detract.
Estimated Value $3,500 - 5,000.
Ex. the astronaut Donald K. "Deke" Slayton Family collection.
