Lot 331

Miscellaneous, 1984//1993, Deke Slayton's Handwritten Day Planners. Lot of eight different years (1984, 1986-1991, 1993) of day planners, each year in a seprate plastic box containing 12 seperate monthly day books filled with Deke's listings of meetings and notes. We ran a similar group of planners from Deke's NASA years some time ago. This box just came to light. It includes note re travel, speeches, and his Conestoga rocket launches, plus more ordinary and mundane life notations. ALSO included is a seperate "Travel Diary" written by Bobbie Slayton (?) re a trip to Japan taken by Dr/Mrs Charles Berry (NASA doctor) and Mr/Mrs Slayton for the April 14-22, 1984 "Space Industrial Seminar" (fascinating behind-the-scene comments - a little on the spicy side). A great lot of first-person, handwritten history.
Estimated Value $250 - 350.
Ex. the Donald "Deke" Slayton Family collection.

Realized $432
