[Cleghorn, Archibald Scott] (1835-1910) Scottish merchant who married Hawaiian royal princess Miriam Likelike and was the father of Kaiulani, the heir apparent to the Hawaiian throne. He served in the House of Nobles from 1873 to 1888, in the Privy Council from 1873 to 1891, and was Royal Governor of Oahu in July 1887. In 1900 he became the first parks commissioner of Honolulu.

Mounted photo, 7½ x 5¼ in., with imprint of Taber, San Francisco, Cal. on lower mount. A fine head-and-shoulders portrait with a few tiny spots of foxing.
