Battles of Vera Cruz and Buena Vista Reported in the Arkansas State Democrat. April 16, 1847 issue, 4pp, 23 x 17 in. Reports on the fall of Vera Cruz and the battle of Buena Vista. General Winfield Scott was the hero of Vera Cruz and General Zachary Taylor of Buena Vista. There is other extensive news on the war with Mexico; also, Indian news, runaway slaves, etc. Very fine. Housed in a custom-made folder of black buckram with burgundy spine; the name of the paper, the date, and "Battles of Vera Cruz & Buena Vista" in gilt lettering.
