1851/81 N-3 R1 Overdate 51 over Inverted 18 PCGS graded AU58+. Frosty medium brown and light chocolate with satiny mint luster covering the protected areas. Flawless except for a small rim nick at the D in UNITED and another light nick on the rim over the right edge of star 6, both marks barely visible. Sharply struck EDS, die state a. The 51 over Inverted 81 feature is bold and the field around the date is covered with strong die finishing lines. A very nice example of this popular "Redbook" variety. Our grade is AU50. The 51 over 81 feature is noted on the PCGS label.
