1817 N-16 R1 15-Star Obverse AU50+. Choice frosty steel brown and chocolate with satiny mint luster covering the fields and protected areas on both sides. The reverse is a shade or two darker than the obverse but both sides offer excellent eye appeal. Nearly flawless. The only defects are a very shallow and barely visible low spot on the chin (caused by some debris on the die) and a small nick on the front edge of the throat where it joins the jaw. MDS with a cud break in the dentils over AM. The dash to the right from the top of the F in OF is now reduced to a very dull lump and the reverse is rotated 30 degrees CCW from a normal head-to-foot die orientation.
