Lot 381

1817 N-9 R2 AU50. Mouse Top. Sharpness closer to mint state but there is a rim dent just right of the second S in STATES. Lustrous light brown and chocolate, the reverse a few shades lighter than the obverse. The eye appeal is excellent; just too bad about the small rim dent. LDS with a fully developed "Mouse" break resting on top of the head under star 8. This is the only "Mouse" break that actually looks like a rodent with the head to the left, fatter body in the middle, and thin tail off to the right. Called AU55 net EF45 in the Noyes census, his photo #27834.
Estimated Value $300-UP.
Ex Vern Lowe 4/1979.

Realized $1,064
