Lot 372

1817 N-5 R3 VF35. Sharpness VF35 but there are a few too many light contact marks for the higher grade. The notable marks are a few ticks at the base of the 7 and a faint diagonal hairline scratch in the field before the nose. Glossy medium brown with wisps of darker olive and steel brown toning on both sides, including a spot of dark toning midway between star 1 and the chin. LDS. The fields are flowlined, the stars are drawn to the rims, and the dentils on the reverse are gone. The repunching on the left base of the N in ONE remains clear.
Estimated Value $200-UP.
Ex Paul Padget 5/1983 (at the EAC Convention).

Realized $444
