Lot 362

1817 N-2 R3 VF35. At least 5 points sharper but there is a fine pinscratch from the bottom of star 7 down to the throat where it fades away. Otherwise there are only a few trivial marks and the eye appeal is excellent. Very attractive frosty chocolate brown mixed with tiny puffs of lighter brown toning in the field behind the portrait and a small spot of slightly darker olive brown toning at the right point of star 4. Satiny mint luster covers the protected areas on both sides. Rare EDS without the usual radial die crack from the dentils down through the first S in STATES. Called AU50 net EF45 and tied for CC#12 in the Noyes census, his photo #27865.
Estimated Value $250-UP.
Ex John Schreuder-Del Bland-Carl Windon 3/31/1988-Del Bland.

Realized $690
