Lot 2960

"LORD & TAYLOR" EP-172, HB-173, S-126 24¢. Fr-EP-172. While this is a rare denomination, estimated by Reed to have less than 10 survivors, there are some numerous pry marks on the back and general warping of the case that suggests a stamp replacement. That being said, the piece is not unattractive and the Lord & Taylor issues are not at all common as a group. The stamp itself is a little dull, which argues for it having been replaced many years ago, and the mica shows normal crazing and cracking. Fine.
Estimated Value $800 - 900.
