Lot 2930

"DRAKE'S PLANTATION BITTERS" EP-74, HB-102, S-72, 5¢ Plain frame. Fr-EP-74. This is a very attractive example of a variety that is a much scarcer denomination. Reed rates it as an R-5, indicating 21-30 known. The case is original, unopened, and retains traces of luster around the lettering. The surfaces mottled olive and medium brown. The mica shows some very minor crazing and some light scratches, but is otherwise crystal clear. The stamp is a touch off center but retains good color. Extremely Fine.
Estimated Value $600 - 800.
Ex: Early American History Auctions 12/2007:2154 The Samuel J. Berngard Collection.
