1796 S-86 R5 Liberty Cap AG3. Glossy dark olive and steel with fine granularity covering the planchet. No verdigris but there is a planchet chip low on the neck that catches your eye. Both sides are coated with lacquer or some similar substance that adds artificial gloss to the surfaces, and the "painter" left obvious brushlines dried into the coating. The date is weak but easily readable, LIBERTY is clear, and more than half the reverse remains visible.
